Those who visited my blog earlier today will surely notice that I have taken down the post most prominently featured on your previous visit.
Upon re-reading my earlier post I found nothing in what I wrote that was more "hurtful" or "over the top" than many other posts I have published. It was factual with a healthy dose of sarcasm. But, from the comments and emails I have received, something about this particular post obviously hit a nerve with a number of people.
As I often do when faced with a confusing situation, I turned to people I admire and respect for different perspectives. Throughout the day, I have had lengthy conversations with a few of those people, and they proposed a view that might have led people to respond differently to this particular posting.
Even though my posting specifically mentioned only Dennis Whitling, my suggestion that he might be selling his house to make restitution for his crimes was apparently seen as an attack on his entire family. As one adviser remarked, "if Dennis were single or his children were grown, there would likely have been a different response."
Dennis is not single, and his children are still young. As such, they too are victims of his crimes, and I would never consciously add to their pain. If I have done that, I sincerely apologize to Julianne Whitling and her children.
However, I will not apologize for commenting on Dennis Whitling's personal and professional demise.
To spend a year asserting that you are more enlightened than the masses and, as such, presuming you know what is best for them; to use your political position to force unwanted policies upon those you were elected to represent while labeling dissenters as "racists," "elitists" or "bigots" all the while stealing from those who trust you, is the height of hypocrisy.
And, a hypocrite of that order deserves ridicule when finally exposed.

I thought yesterday's posting was very clever. I was also impressed that you actually "listened" to the objection and removed the posting. Last year, Mr. Whitling was too arrogant to listen to the objections from the parents, and he decided to enact a smear campaign.
A little background on DW...anyone who stands in his way in the past have been trampled on. Ask co-workers and former co-workers at the law firm. He's caused much heartache in the past 23 years at that firm.
Also, don't forget the employees and owners of the law firm are victims of DW. When someone embezzles, the owners of the firm are unable to afford the proper raises for their employees. While most would say "well, they are lawyers, they can afford not receiving raises", remember, that's RATIONALIZATION, which is what happened when Dennis stole money from the firm.
Yes, it's sad for DW's family, but he did it to himself. He was the one who stole, and he's the one who was telling everyone that his morals were superior over those pesky HES parents that were fightiing the merger. It's a shame that family's lifestyle will be forever altered because of DW's indiscretion.
DW needs some rehabilitation, and if he's let off without receiving it, there's a strong chance he will repeat his actions.
Well Done! Thank you Allen
It doesn't look too good for ole Dennis. A jury would not be very sympathetic towards him. Judges usually frown on attorneys who commit white collar crimes.
Dennis needs to cooperate with the authorities and not withhold information. If he's committed additional illegal acts, he should go ahead and admit it now than later. Cooperation can reduce his prison sentence.
With our current economic situation, people are really touchy when it comes to someone losing their home.
I'll bet no one would have said anything if Dennis was having his BMW repossessed.
Losing his house is not Dennis's biggest concern, or at least it shouldn't be. It should be whether he can minimize his incarceration.
His family members are unfortunately victims, just like the rest of us that had to be degraded during his tenure. We were insulted by his self-absorbed political juggernaut that's mission was to gain favor with other political interests. We should investigate his relationship with Dr. Carraway and determine whether there were additional improprieties that occurred during her reign. Carraway was never about education, and neither was Whitling. They were about proving that they were superior over the rest of us.
Debbie Piscitelli drives a BMW.
While on the board, Dennis bought a Lexus.
A common theme I heard about yesterday's post is that it was "hurtful" to Dennis's family. This, my friends, are the chickens coming home to roost. For those with a failed memory, remember Dennis didn't care one moment when he tried to railroad HES families last year. He didn't think it was unethical when he called us bigots in his inner circle. He didn't mind it at all.
By the way, anyone heard anything about Liz Brown these days? She's been very quiet. I guess she believes that Dennis's problems were somehow afflicted by HES. I wonder what her thoughts are about Dennis.
Come on out Liz and be heard!
Does anyone know when Dennis is scheduled to go back to Court?
"Debbie Piscitelli drives a BMW.
While on the board, Dennis bought a Lexus".
Instead of driving that Lexus, Dennis may be making the license plate for this car in the future.
Has anyone talked to the current and former Board members about Dennis admitting he embezzled? I'd like to know if they plan to investigate possible corruption, or if they want to pretend that nothing could have ever happened.
It's a good thing that Dr. Halkiotis is the chair of the School Board. Ted would have said something like "not our jurisdiction" or "I don't want to get involved".
The only thing hurtful is that Mr. Whitling has not made amends for his hateful and deceitful actions while on the Board. The man used his power to paint HES in a very unfavorable light. The village idiot joined him, along with some other naive souls.
Prison can change a man, make him more introspective about himself and the world. Prison is a dangerous place for white collar criminals. Family visitation is a priviledge to the inmates.
